How to use the EPUB & TXT Converter

What happens under the hood
This tool uses JSZip to parse EPUB container structure and extract readable chapter text for EPUB-to-TXT conversion. For TXT-to-EPUB, it packages UTF-8 text into a standards-based EPUB 3 container with OPF metadata, navigation document and XHTML chapter. All processing happens locally in your browser without uploading your content.

- EPUB-to-TXT removes layout, images and most styling while retaining readable chapter text.
- TXT-to-EPUB creates one reflowable chapter and preserves blank lines as section breaks.
- DRM-protected books are not supported and should not be modified without authorization.
Frequently asked questions
Are EPUB images included in the TXT output?
No. Plain text cannot contain images or visual formatting. The extractor keeps readable chapter text and page breaks only.
Is the generated EPUB suitable for publishing?
It is a valid, simple reflowable EPUB for a plain-text manuscript. Commercial publication still requires editorial review, cover design, richer navigation and device testing.
Are my book and manuscript uploaded?
No. Both extraction and EPUB packaging run locally in the current browser tab.
Keep an untouched original and inspect the downloaded file before replacing any production asset. Closing this tab removes the selected files from the tool.
