Private convert tool
EPUB to PDF Converter
Create a printable PDF from a DRM-free EPUB locally. Processing stays in your browser.
This opens a new print view, not an automatic PDF download. You need a browser with PDF saving support. Text and chapter order are prioritized; illustrations, table structure and publisher styling are not preserved.

Verify chapter order before saving a PDF
Our original DRM-free sample has two chapters. Both headings and the final sentence should survive conversion; exact page count depends on print settings.

Understand reflowable EPUB and fixed PDF layouts, convert authorized books privately, and choose page settings that produce a readable print copy.
How it works
A useful result,
without the upload.
Open a DRM-free EPUB as a clean print layout and use your browser's Save as PDF option, with the book processed entirely on your device. The file is decoded and processed inside this browser tab, so File Preflight never receives its contents.
Worked example
Open an EPUB manuscript as an A4 or US Letter print layout, then save it as a PDF from the print dialog.
How to use the EPUB to PDF Converter
- Choose a DRM-free EPUB file to upload or drop it into the tool.
- Select your preferred PDF page size (A4 or US Letter).
- Wait for the tool to read the EPUB structure and build a print-ready layout.
- Click "Open printable PDF view" to open the browser print dialog.
- In the print dialog, select "Save as PDF" as the destination.
- Review the pages and click "Save" to download your PDF.
What happens under the hood
This tool parses the EPUB container structure using JSZip to read the OPF package and HTML spine. It extracts readable chapter text and builds a print-ready HTML layout with CSS for page size and typography. The browser's print engine then paginates the content and provides the Save as PDF option, all processing happening locally in your browser without uploading the book.
Before you send the file
- Only convert books you own or have permission to process; DRM-protected files are not supported.
- The reader can recover many older EPUBs with a missing container file, incorrect path case or an undeclared HTML spine.
- The print version extracts readable text. EPUB illustrations, rich table structure, embedded fonts and original styling are not preserved.
- Choose Save as PDF in the browser print dialog rather than sending the document to a printer.
Frequently asked questions
Does this remove EPUB DRM?
No. File Preflight does not bypass DRM. Use only DRM-free EPUB files that you own or are authorized to convert.
Can it open an EPUB with missing container metadata?
Often, yes. The tool now searches for a valid OPF package and readable HTML chapters when the standard container path is missing or incorrectly capitalized. A genuinely incomplete or encrypted file still cannot be recovered.
Why does the browser print dialog open?
The browser print engine provides reliable pagination, Unicode text and a built-in Save as PDF destination without uploading the book.
Will the PDF exactly match the EPUB?
No. This tool creates a text-oriented print layout, not a visual replica. Illustrations, rich tables, embedded fonts and publisher styling are not preserved. Use an EPUB reader or publisher export for illustrated and fixed-layout books.
Keep an untouched original and inspect the downloaded file before replacing any production asset. Closing this tab removes the selected files from the tool.
